Memorials and Endowment
"Dollars Forever"
The purpose of the Endowment Fund is to have a permanent income-generating fund that is used for the future benefit of the church. The Endowment Fund uses the interest generated by the money in the Endowment Fund to support selected projects. All contributions remain in the fund to generate additional interest.
Why? The Endowment Fund is one way for our congregation to meet the increasing cost of providing ministry. Members appreciate the opportunity to have their contributions provide continuous benefits for the people and programs of First Lutheran.
Who? The Fund is managed by the Memorial and Endowment Committee, seven First Lutheran members, selected by the Congregation Council, who serve voluntarily.
What? Members sometimes wonder what kind of gifts can be given to the Fund. Any gift or device for the benefit of the church can be given. These can be in the form of money, stocks, bonds, or various insurance products. Real or personal property may also be given.
How are funds spent? The Memorial and Endowment Committee solicits ideas from various church boards, committees, staff members, and other individuals. The Committee makes recommendations to the Congregation Council which must approve all expenditures.
