Students in grades seven and eight attend confirmation classes with affirmation of Baptism occurring on the last Sunday in October of ninth grade. During the two years, students attend classes on Wednesday evenings and Sunday School on Sunday mornings. The small catechism is the basis of our confirmation program. Students will study the Apostle's Creed, the Lord's Prayer, the Ten Commandments, Baptism, Communion, Confession and Absolution and look at what it means to be Lutheran by studying the life of Martin Luther. Just about every other week will be spent in a lesson and the other weeks will alternate between service projects and fellowship events. This helps the groups to put into action what they are learning and also allows them time to get to know one another better which makes the lessons easier and more effective. Teaching the lessons are: Pastor Tom Carlson, Intern Amy Orstad, and Leisha Tays. Students will also spend time with Leisha Tays, Director of Youth & Family Ministry in confirmation retreats and fellowship events and service projects - both offsite and onsite. Contact Leisha Tays for more information.
