GOOD NEWS BEARERS
Good News Bearers is for those in 3-6th grade.
The Good News Bearers ministry is another wonderful resource developed by the Youth and Family Institute of Augsburg College that is focused on strengthening families to nurture faith in their children as they tend the baptismal journey and mature in faith. Good News Bearers is a structured yet flexible aid in promoting faith-oriented Christian Education.
Why the name? Creator, Pastor Tim Strommen, explains: “Good News is a direct reference to the Good News of Jesus Christ, or the Gospel and Bearers is a means to carry, or to bear. To be carriers of the Gospel is a great concept! But also, it sounds like bears- the fuzzy animals. This has a rather universal appeal to children because it can suggest to some listeners a gentle, soft, cozy teddy bear. But let’s not kid ourselves in thinking bears are only soft. Football teams are named after this animal! There is strength and courage connected to the name and the image!”
A night at Good News Bearers looks like this:
6:15pm-7:00pm Biblical Dramas in Daniel
7:00-7:15pm Drama presentations for "fans" in Daniel
(Yes, choir times have changed for 2008-2009...Good News Bearers will not conflict with choir. Click here for 2008-2009 FLAME details.)
